Somehow the system restore is gone. I went to Start,
Programs, Accessories, then System Tools and after that
the System Restore is not there. Any ideas how to get it
back on the system?

Look for and use the file RSTRUI.EXE in the folder Windows\System\Restore to
launch System Restore. For convenience you might want to create a shortcut to
this file and place it on your desktop. Rename the shortcut "System Restore"
and drag it on to the Start button and then navigate/move it to your preferred
location.

In the meantime you can access system restore using any of the following:
a) Using the link in Help & Support
b) By using the link on the General tab in MSConfig
c) By entering RSTRUI in the Start | Run box and clicking OK, or,
d) By using Explorer, browsing to the windows\system\restore folder and double
clicking on the file rstrui.exe.
