need a little help, i have a 6.4 gig hd that had me on it, upgraded the hd to
a 80 gig for me so i decided to use the 6.4 gig for a small private server.

formatted the hd format c: then set it as a slave drive, when i now boot up
it says non system disk please insert original disk or press any key, if i
press any key it goes into windows ok & shows the 6.4 drive, i tried
formatting the hd format c:/s but it will not let me boot up to the c drive
if i mount the drive.

any ideas, it does work because people can download files from it.

Check the active partition status with fdisk.

I suspect you formatted the wrong drive - use FDISK /STATUS to see what
your current status is.
