    - Intermittent OE mail send problem Starting recently, I often cannot send email using Outlook Express (receiving works fine). I get a message that it "cannot connect to the server."     - Cursor Temporarily Freezes When I point and click on a link my screen often temporarily freezes for 15 seconds or so after I click and then the page finally downloads.     - scanpm.exe Today, my computer starting running scan disk over and over again. A tool bar appeared out of nowhere that shows a "scanpm" and scanpm.exe file. I can't seem to get rid of it and my computer keeps crashing. I ran scandisk standard check in safemode. When I tried to run a thorough check, it said that it keeps restarting because a program is running in the background. I can't figure out what is running. I also ran McAfee in safemode to check for viruses. It found no infected files. Then,I tried to do a system restore, but it said there was insufficient space.     - Programs take long time to start When I startup the computer, and after WinMe starts, sometimes it takes like 30 sec. for ZoneAlarm, and then my internet connection s/w to start. And it's not only that, another fps game I have, and another program or two, sometimes take 30sec-1min to start. No activity during these periods.     - Problem with e-mail I am hoping someone can help me. I did a virus scan on my computer the other day and had a win32.Benny.6382. Mcafee was little help but now my scan is coming up clean EXCEPT when I do a free one on line. But now when I go to my outlook express I get a message that says MSIMN has caused an error in kernel32.dll. Msimn will now close. I can't send e-mails and i don't have anytime to read e-mails before that message comes up. I went through my HP help icon but I get an error that says HTTP error 404 and my virus scan icon comes on about suspious activity.     - File Sharing I have a Wintel ME pc connected via serial cable to a WINTEL XP/Pro. I want to transfer files from the ME to the XP. I've enabled file sharing and created a file share on the ME for the folder I want the XP to have access to on the ME. I've used the setup wizard on the XP to set the XP as a guest of the ME pc using serial cable. When I go to use the connection from the XP it indicates it is dialing and then error 777, connection attempt failed because modem or other connecting device on the remote computer is out of order. Boot up with your startup disk and try "scanreg /fix".

This will fix the registry and, maybe, sort out your problem.

Once this happened to me. I went into Safe Mode, used ScanDisk and
then Defrag. It worked.
