Just to report back, I have had an unfortunately hectic week, in which
I had a trip to the emergency room and then my daughters graduation
from college. So I have not attempted to rename all of the msvcrt.dll
files.
The problem seems to have decreased in frequency, and now I get
perhaps 1 of these errors every few days rather than (approx) 1 every
4 hours. The only change I know that I have made was to re-install
MusicMatch Jukebox, which refused to load until I did the re-install.
