Using a file "cleansing program" I must have deleted a
file and error message involving the above reference came
up. A friend tired to fix the problem, but now the error
message does not come up, but windows does not load. All
that is present on my screen is my wallpaper.

I may have the deleted file in my recycle bin - but how do
I access it.

I have a restore date but how do I access it.

Do I have to reinstall Windows ME. I understand that if I
do I have to delete IE as well.

Funny how all this seemed to happen with by last download
of IE security patch 3 days ago. Even when I used my
cleansing program, I was still able to use my computer -
until I rebooted..hmm

What is the best avenue to take. I don't want to lose
programs and files (video and music)...

Thanks

What does the message say? Reason I ask is I've been having crashes relating
to shlwapi.dll since installing the latest IE cumulative update.
