If it really is in safe mode, it should display the words 'Safe Mode' in
each corner of the screen. On the other hand, this odd display *may* be the
result of a corrupted video driver.
If you can't think of any reason why your screen became 'unusual' (you
didn't do anything obvious to cause it) then you should first try to run
System Restore and roll back to before the problem started.
If that doesn't fix it, right-click on your Desktop and select Properties.
Using the Settings tab, try re-adjusting the Screen resolution and Colour
quality back to your requirements.
Failing that, boot into safe mode and open Device Manager. 'Remove' any/all
display adapters and monitors shown. Re-boot and hopefully, you will be able
to re-adjust your display back to normal.
