Each time I try to access Windows Setup I receive this message:
rundll32 has caused an error in SETUPX.dll. I am trying to reinstall
some card games that came with ME. I researched Googe, MS KB, but am
stumped. If I put the ME cd in, it won't autorun. When I browse the
cd, I don't know where to find the card games. Can someone help? TIA

This page refers to Win 95 but it is as close as I can find on the Knowledge
Base.

Your problem is likely to be a result of having deleted some empty folders in
Program Files that are used for optional components of Win Me and that were
placed there when Win Me was installed. You then probably used a registry
cleaner such as EasyCleaner which removed some necessary entries required for
Add/Remove Programs | Windows Setup to function because the target folders
were no longer present. You can avoid this happening in future by not
deleting such folders and similarly not deleting any values in the key
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\VarLDID

I've attached a zip file containing a reg file containing all of the required
entries. Download this, extract the reg file and merge with the registry and
this should hopefully fix the problem.

Thank you kind sir! You are precisely correct. I did use
EasyClean recently!! I did as you instructed and achieved complete
success.
