When I start my computer an error message appears saying
that there is an error in the registery and that windows
will fixit and resart. When it restarts the message

Paul,

Registry Checker Continues to Detect Registry Damage
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=186909

You'll need to check your memory to see if it's defective.
Download DocMemory :
http://simmtester.com/page/products/doc/docinfo.asp

As of today, it's free of charge. Read the instructions.
You will need a floppy disk to install the program to from your HD.
Run the Burnt-In test overnight to test memory thoroughly.
