i recently had to load my recovery discs. once done, i had
great difficulty "ticking" the license agreement because i
am using a radeon 7500 video card and this played havoc
with the graphics. after 3 hours trying, i fluked getting
past it, i loaded the radeon software to correct the
graphics, then i loaded a game onto the system and found
the screen was flickering between the game and a black
screen. i also recieved a message telling me it was short
of memory. my system is 95% free! i spent 24 hours
downloading all the updates from the web including windows
updates and direct x 9.0. i also performed another 3 hours
running scandisc thorough and then another 2 hours
defragmenting the drive. all this made no difference.
somebody must know something, maybe the recovery discs
loaded the original software/drivers for the original
display card and this is interferring with the radeon
software? my system was working fine with this new card
before the recovery installation...
