problems since upgrading to outlook express 6.0

I recently upgraded to outlook express 6.0. and the new
version of microsoft internet explorer. Since then, when
I close this program I get an eror message "Msimn has
caused an error in Kernel32.DLL. Msimn will now close"

The error message box does not close when I click the
close button.

Despite this, I can still use other programs and re-open
outlook express 6.0

Additionally, I have not been able to open text file e-
mail attachments since upgrading to OE 6.0. I CAN open
and view e-mail photo attachments.

I went to the Microsoft page and downloaded the available
patches and updates for Outlook Express 6.0, but this has
not helped.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?
