Before I do scan disk and(now having errors from the scan disk error), now my
ps2 mouse does not response. However if I used the USB mouse, the pc does
detect it and can response. Question is how can I make use of the ps2 mouse
instead, many thanks

Reboot to Safe Mode
Open Device Manager
Remove ALL Mouse devices
Remove ALL error-flagged devices
Remove ALL entries in the 'Other Devices' branch - if present
Reboot to Normal Mode - Windows will reinstall the required drivers,
hopefully curing your problem.

Noel,

sorry mean to say using the ps2 keyboard. (too much beer, I suppose)
I do not seems to be able to get to 'safe mode' by pressing F8.
When I on the power, the screen will say, Press F1 to enter dual BIOS
utility, Press 'ESC' to quite. Any key to 'continue'

Also when I on the power, there is no loht on the kb, which you would
normally expect. *kb was was before the scan etc)

In any case, on the Normal boot up, in DM, i remove the kb and reboot but
still get the same result, that is there is no light on the kb and no
response. (In DM, there
are no error-fkagged devices/'OTHER' devices.

[When I go to msconfig and activate the 'safe-mode', it start on 'safe-mode'
but I still cannot use the kb. It will not response to the selection I need
to make, so I have to deactivate it]

Please assist btw 'Merry Christmas' , thanks

'AMI Dual BIOS Flash ROM progamming Utility v1.02" heading and in its blue
screen
Boot From ...............Main Bios
Main ROM Type .......HYUNDAI HY29F002T

and further down the message it has "Load BIOS from Floppy" and at the
bottom of the message there various option

such as Enter:Run arrow (to move up/down):Move ESC:Reset F10:Power Off
(Enter, arrow signs, ESC and F10 are 'gray out'

and I dont seems to be able to move anything and there is even no ight on
the kb.
Please help, thanks

Ed
That looks very much like a dead keyboard, or a motherboard problem - more
likely the latter :(

Try another keyboard and see if it behaves the same, if so then that would
confirm the motherboard is at fault.
In which case, it's time to take a trip to the store, and get a techie to
look at it.
