    - IPHLPAPI.DLL File When I boot up, I keep getting an error message as follows: "The IPHLPAPI.DLL file cannot start. Check this file to determine the problem." I have contacted Gateway about this and they have guided me through several things, but nothing has worked. Gateway suggested that I re- install my Windows program.     - Can't Open Office Works Spreadsheet I saved an important file off onto a disk (*.wks). I then uninstalled Office Works and installed Office 2000.     - Windows Explorer Problems At various times while running Windows ME, the screen will lock up and I have to press ALT-CTL-DEL and wait a few seconds for Windows Explorer to indicate it is "not responding".     - Kidnapped "Accessories" Programs. When I booted up today, I went to the 'Accessories' Folder in 'Programs' and there was nothing there. Scandisk, Defrag, Dos Prompt etc are all gone. It keeps restarting on its own automaticlly a few minutes after I turn it on. It seems to really do it alot when im trying to download or install something.     - ME Automatic Update I have Automatic Update enabled. When I turn my PC on each day Windows ME accesses the net to check for updates about 10 mins after switch on. Then it always happens again about 5 mins later. Is this correct and I'm missing something? I've looked at Automatic Update settings and Scheduled Tasks, and there's nothing obvious wrong. This message just started to appear after I downloaded Norton Antivirus 2004 and it ran its prescan before installing after restarting the computer I now get this message: Rundll32 has caused an error in <unknown> Rundll32 will now close.     - Mprexe caused exception in 03h module We ran disk fragmenter on Saturday 10/25. It ran fine, and computer was fine afterward.     - scanpm.exe Today, my computer starting running scan disk over and over again. A tool bar appeared out of nowhere that shows a "scanpm" and scanpm.exe file. I can't seem to get rid of it and my computer keeps crashing. I ran scandisk standard check in safemode. When I tried to run a thorough check, it said that it keeps restarting because a program is running in the background. I can't figure out what is running.     - Programs take long time to start When I startup the computer, and after WinMe starts, sometimes it takes like 30 sec. for ZoneAlarm, and then my internet connection s/w to start.     - Problem with e-mail I am hoping someone can help me. I did a virus scan on my computer the other day and had a win32.Benny.6382. Mcafee was little help but now my scan is coming up clean EXCEPT when I do a free one on line. But now when I go to my outlook express I get a message that says MSIMN has caused an error in kernel32.dll. Msimn will now close. When I press CTRL+ALT+DEL to see what programs are running
I find that there are two Microsoft Explorers running.
Closing either of them in the close program window shuts
down my computer. Has anyone ever seen this and if so

I suggest you obtain a full-featured "process viewer", and confirm that
you have two examples of Explorer executing.
Be sure not to confuse IExplorer.

the free "Process Explorer"
www.sysinternals.com

Explorer is the Windows shell, not just the simple file manager, and
closing it will crash the OS.
