Win ME, MSN messenger and ie6 errors

I have reformated, reinstalled Windows ME, IE6, MSN6, all necessary drivers
and updated everything necessary. It should be a smooth running PC ! The
fact is I am plagued with ie errors, crashes, freezes and unexpected
reboots. I think MSN is the problem. I deleted messenger and ran the PC for
a day with little or no problems but as soon as i reinstalled it the
problems started again.
Anyone else had the same problem? Anyone out there know of a fix or patch? I
use MSN messenger and netmeeting almost daily and the problems are really
driving me up the wall.

We have exactly the same problem; with Messenger on, we get crashes,
particularly featuring GDI.exe. With Messenger off, the machine runs
smoothly. Let me know if you hear anything useful.
