I keep running out of memory. Win ME on AMD processor
w/256 MB SDRAM. Performance says I have 51% System
Resources. That's with all programs shut down. When
computer stays on for 24 hours it drops to below 20%. Even
when I had 512 MB SDram it did the same. Anything I can do?

Look her to see the difference between Resources and Memory

http://www.aumha.org/win4/a/resource.htm

download AdAware from www.lavasoftusa.com, install, update, and run it to
remove spyware, adware,
and other such nasties from your system.

then visit
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.php
to learn about what you can remove from the startup access to increase
available resource.

Check your computer for spyware that may be running in the
background, use msconfig to reduce the number of programs
that start with your computer. Sometimes programs that you
exit out of may still remain running in the background, so
a restart may be necessary to free up resources.
Maybe some tweaks would help?
