Two things. One, you may have something eating up your cpu cycles (most
likely). Get a good process viewer like Process Explorer, free from
www.sysinternals.com and you will be able to see what percentage processor
usage is being had by each running process.
Two, and less likely, you may have a video card and/or display driver issue.
Just for grins, if you don't already have them, get a free copy of Adaware6
from www.lavasoft.de and/or Spybot S&D from
http://spybot.safer-networking.de/ .
These will check your machine for 'crapware' that may be tying up your cpu.
Both of these programs rely on updated reference files, so, be sure to keep
them updated. Spybot has a little larger learning curve, but, is not
difficult if you read the Help.
