    - Cursor Temporarily Freezes When I point and click on a link my screen often temporarily freezes for 15 seconds or so after I click and then the page finally downloads. I am running a fairly fast cable modem connection which otherwise works well so I think it might be something in the operating system. Any ideas?     - Keyboard problems! Hello. I'm stuck and could use some help.. My keyboard is acting screwy. -arrow keys are nonfunctional, except for left arrow which is now "backslash". -insert, home, delete, end, pageup, and pagedown are all apparently nonfunctional. -keypad generally works except: "-" key is now "*", "*" is nonfunctional, numlock doesn't turn off, "+" is also now "*", and "Enter" is now "+".     - scanpm.exe Today, my computer starting running scan disk over and over again. A tool bar appeared out of nowhere that shows a "scanpm" and scanpm.exe file. I can't seem to get rid of it and my computer keeps crashing. I ran scandisk standard check in safemode. When I tried to run a thorough check, it said that it keeps restarting because a program is running in the background. I can't figure out what is running. I also ran McAfee in safemode to check for viruses. It found no infected files. Then,I tried to do a system restore, but it said there was insufficient space.     - Programs take long time to start When I startup the computer, and after WinMe starts, sometimes it takes like 30 sec. for ZoneAlarm, and then my internet connection s/w to start. And it's not only that, another fps game I have, and another program or two, sometimes take 30sec-1min to start. No activity during these periods.     - Problem with e-mail I am hoping someone can help me. I did a virus scan on my computer the other day and had a win32.Benny.6382. Mcafee was little help but now my scan is coming up clean EXCEPT when I do a free one on line. But now when I go to my outlook express I get a message that says MSIMN has caused an error in kernel32.dll. Msimn will now close. I can't send e-mails and i don't have anytime to read e-mails before that message comes up. I went through my HP help icon but I get an error that says HTTP error 404 and my virus scan icon comes on about suspious activity. Mcafee is no longer helping me because htey say I have no virus, HP I can't get in touck with and Verizon had me reinstall my outlook and I got no where. Now they say the virus may have done some damage and they suggested I come here. PLease keep in my that I know little about the computers except how to check my e-mail.     - Address Book Each time I make a change to Address Book (c:\program files\outlook express\wab.exe\ Version 6.0.2800.1123)and then exit, an icon is written to the desktop whose target is a file, c:\windows\desktop\~\. This icon is written immediately after the address book window closes. The file, ~ , is written and is on the desktop. If you examine this file with notepad, it appears to hold a copy of the information in my address book. Scanning the file with a virus checker yields "No Virus Present". This file appears to be written at various other times like re- starts, etc. I've deleted this file on many instances but it keeps re-appearing. New versions are written each time address book is altered. I would appreciate any info on what this is - what it is part of - why it is present - why it exists.... any of these!!!!     - File Sharing I have a Wintel ME pc connected via serial cable to a WINTEL XP/Pro. I want to transfer files from the ME to the XP. I've enabled file sharing and created a file share on the ME for the folder I want the XP to have access to on the ME. I've used the setup wizard on the XP to set the XP as a guest of the ME pc using serial cable. When I go to use the connection from the XP it indicates it is dialing and then error 777, connection attempt failed because modem or other connecting device on the remote computer is out of order. You can extract them from the Windows CD.
