I changed mouse. simple? No! On reboot the system failed to detect the
mouse so I reverted to the old one. Now on restart it only boots to the DOS
"safe mode menu" i.e. with the options to start normally, in safe mode
etc...but the key board is unresponsive. (yes I have chcked all the
connections) All that happens is that is defaults to safe mode but when it
attempts to start it resets back to the dOS screen. An endless loop that I
do not seem to get out of...HELP!

I have NAV 2004 and my gut feel is that once again NAV has corrupted
something - looks like the mouse / keyboard drivers. Apart from the magic
wand, how do I boot from the startup disc in DOS and rapair / remove these
driver files so it will either start as before or at least seek new
versions...

Why not use system restore and roll your system, back to the state it was
in before the problems started? Be prepared though to have to reinstall
NAV as this will be even more crippled than normal if it has updated
itself since the checkpoint to which you return was created.

Can I use system restore from the DOS prompt using the startup disc? I
cannot boot into windows in either normal or safe mode. I'll probably take
NAV off this one anyway and install AntiVir. Not as freindly UI and a scan
is much slower but after your recommendation it has prevented problems with
NAV2005 on another PC.
