An error message "Wlannic has caused an error in ATHCFG.DLL Wlannic will now
close." occurs during boot up. Anyone have an idea what this means and how to
get rid of it?

Had a quick Google browse......do you have a wireless LAN installed??

The English MVP's will be here in a few hours.

As Heather has already sort of suggested try reinstalling the drivers for
your wireless card. Neither of the files you mention are part of the Win
Me operating system and are specific to your hardware.

If the problem has only just begun and you have recently made some changes
to your system try reversing those changes. Alternatively if the problem
is no more than about a week old you could use system restore to roll your
system back to the state it was in before you started to see this problem.
