    - Windows ME not responding Hello, I am running Windows ME on a Dell Dim XPS. I suddenly am not able to install new drivers or programs and cannot update windows. When the system trys to install or download it "Stops Responding" If I end task my computer is fin, i.e. it doe's not freeze. I can access all my programs and print and nothing else is wrong.     - OE6 - WindowsME This sounds like something trivial but it's most irritating. I have created a signature, complete with highlights and background etc. in HTML. When I click on "Create Mail" in OE, I have my HTML background and signature perfectly presented. However, when I'm in a document and click on an email link, I have no background and when I click "Add Signature", it comes out in black print - white background.     - Startup issues after automatic Windows Update I had a client install the windows update last week when the little box came up. She thought she did the process correctly (don't they always). When it requested to reboot the system an "error loading explorer.exe, you must reinstall windows" message came up. If you click "OK", you then get can't find the comctl.dll file. Then it halts there. Anyone have any ideas. The system is a Gateway Solo 5300 notebook. The biggest problem, is that these systems don't come with a Windows ME disk only the system restore disk. No one at gateway can tell me if this disk will format and reinstall the system to it's original shipping configuration.     - hanging at boot up Hi, I have been having trouble with boot up for about two months now. It seems like about every third or forth boot up, it is hanging and I need to hit the reset botton. It goes far enough to give me my wall paper, play the ME chime, and show the speaker in the system tray, then it hangs, shows the hourglass with the mouse pointer and doesn't go any further. It seems like it is hanging on a program that starts at boot up. I looked in "start>programs>startup" and nothing looks unusual there.     - auto complete in search files I have upgraded computers and before passing my old one on to friends, I am trying to clean it up. I have deleted all files, however... I have kept confidential client records on my computer and occasionally used the "find files" option in my start menu to find client documents.     - C:\Windows\System Dialog box opens at logon Whenever I logon to my Win98 computer, the dialog box for the folder "C:\Windows\System" opens. I have just cleaned off a few viruses using Norton 2004, so this may be a residual effect now that they are all gone. I have checked the Autoexec.bat file, but did not see any entries for this dialog box, nor for a file inside of this dialog box. My starup menu is empty. Could this be in the registry?
