Everytime I start Windows, multiple error messages say
that there is not enough memory available to perform the
operation and that I must close another program, even if
there's nothing open. They just pop up as soon as I can
click ok. Thereafter, I cannot open any applications.

Even when starting the machine in safe mode, it freezes
and gets hung.

Any suggestions would be *greatly* appreciated!

Thank you.

With the computer not being able to boot into Safe Mode the options
are a bit more limited.

What did you
add/install/update/modify/reconfigure/remove/delete/uninstall or
otherwise change in any way about the computer at the same time as
this problem started?

Does your computer have an antivirus program installed and are the
virus definition files updated regularly so they are never more than
10 days old?

Have you used a spyware removal program recently?

Do you have a WindowsMe Startup Disk? If not can you download an
image file from www.bootdisk.com and use it to create one?

Do you have any familiarity with using DOS commands? The possible
solution that I have in mind would require the use of some DOS
commands and making some changes to a Windows configuratio file using
a text editor program.

The answers to the above questions will help to determine the possible
solutions to your problem and to set priorities as to which one should
be tried first.

Good luck

Rachel

I'm having the exact same problem and have no idea how to
resolve it.
