After burning files onto a cd for storage, the zip folders
became unreadable. The icons for the zip folders changed,
and some of the other folders changed in the titles. I am
a total novice with technical aspects and don't even know
where to go with this to get my documents back into a
readable format. The cd that was burned is also
unreadable. The person who burned the cd for me, says
there should not even be a connection between the two.
But it happened immediately after the burning. Help!!!!

Two excellent sources for details of the way CD recording works in
general, with technical detail, are:

Mike Richter's Primer
http://www.mrichter.com/cdr/primer/primer.htm
Andy McFadden's CD-R FAQ http://www.cdrfaq.org/

Roxio has some good information at http://www.roxio.com/en/support/.
