Hi,

About three weeks ago, every time I boot my PC, the dial-
up networking "connect to" window pops up automatically
during startup. I've checked msconfig/startup, and
there's nothing there to indicate dial-up networking.
Now, as of yesterday, even opening an application like
Norton Anti-Virus or MS Word, causes this bloody "connect
to" window to open. And the real problem is, if I don't
connect, it will continue to open at least two or three
times! And in the case of MS Word, the document won't
even open unless I connect?

This is crazy! Anyone heard of this problem and have a
cure?

Much appreciate your time and assistance.

With IE open, go to Tools > Options > Advanced. Scroll down to Security
section and uncheck the two check for certificate revocation boxes.

Hi,

Open Internet explorer, select the tools menu, and select options. Click the
connections tab. Choose your internet connection and select "never dial a
connection". This should do.
If you still face the same problem, check if any program loading at startup
is trying to access the internet.
Perform a clean boot:

Or:

Best of luck,
