Computer was infected with a virus (Novarg)and the file
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHIMGAPI.DLL was deleted by Norton. The
instruction was to replace it with an uninfected copy of
the original. How do I do this? Please explain in very
simple terms...don't assume I know anything. Thank you for
your help.

I have cleaned the computer using Symantec's removal tool.

Win Me contains no such file. SHIMGAPI.DLL _IS_ the virus. It would appear
the cleaning tool did not do its job correctly if you are told you need this
file and I would run it again. Alternatively read
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.novarg.a@mm.html
for details of how to clean your PC manually.
