The system isn t seeing mmsys.cpl, its in windows\system folder but no
multimedia or sounds icons in control panel. I ve tried extracting another
copy from cabs it extract it ok but still doesn t see file . I don t have a
ME installation disk . Is there anywhere online that I can get a copy of the
mmsys.cpl file.Could something else be conflicting with it.I looked in win
.ini and sys.ini and it seems to have all the sound and multimedia drivers
loaded.please respond Thanks

Have you looked at Control.ini?
That is the file that may have a reference in the [don't load] section
that can stop a cpl file showing.

Have you tried these commands for Multimedia and Sounds from the
Start-Run box?

control mmsys.cpl
control mmsys.cpl sounds
