I installed Norton Security 2007 on my Windows XP Home Edition
computer but it refused to work again. It keeps on rebooting and and
rebooting all the time. I cannot use it for anything and I tried to
reinstall the Windows XP CD that came with my computer, but in the
middle of the installation, it says that a problem has been detected
and Windows has to shut down to prevent damage to your computer. I am
confused, I cannot do anything and when I tried to contact Symantec,
they want to charge me money just to talk to them. What can I do?

So it would appear! <vbg>

This newsgroup is for those using the Windows Millennium (Win Me)
operating system and having problems with their PC rather than for those
running XP. Having said that you know the cause of your problems which
are due to your having installed the deadly Norton virus from Symantec.
Try booting to Safe Mode and uninstalling Norton Security 2007, your PC
will truly thank you for that after which you should then look for and
install a less troublesome antivirus and security application.

Reinstalling XP over itself sadly won't rid you of Norton. Norton needs
to be uninstalled.
