can't delete files from "my pictures"

My hard drive is filling up Every time I delete a photo
from "my pictures" a new version of it takes it's place
with the name "copy of . . ." How can I delete without
creating copies??????

I once had a .JPG file which opened normally but was impossible to copy
or move because of the effect you describe.

I suggest you open the folder containing the photo (My Pictures),
highlight the file with your mouse (one left click) then hold down the
Shift Key and press the Delete key. This is a total delete without the
file going to the recycle bin.

The cause of the problem in my case was a missing end-of-file marker on
the .JPG file.

Pleae let us know if this works. If not there may be an alternative.
