I have downloaded the blaster worm patch but when I'm
running it I get an error in the form
NTDLL.DLL:NtShutdownSystem. Does anyone know what this
means?

No, there is no patch for Windows ME. It doesn't need one.

It is fair to assume you are on ME because you have posted to this
newsgroup. The MS page which lets you download the patch

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-026.asp

tells you specifically thet ME is not affected - so why download it?
Just delete what you downloaded and forget it :-)

Methinks this is going to be the next round of wasted posts/replies since
"OE removed access..."
People don't read/look at the rest of the newsgroup before posting their own
question.

I think maybe a block cap subject sayine "NO, WINME IS NOT AFFECTED"
might possibly deter one or two.......but the rest will ask.....ARE YOU
SURE???? (VBG)

And two new variants out, btw. Keeping one eye on alt.comp.virus and
one on my goodlooking husband.....chuckle.
