The Windows update applet isn't available in my Programs menu or in the
Control Panel. I want to add it to the Control Panel sot that I can set
update schedules.
Where do I get the applet and how do I add it?

The Windows Update link should be on your Start Menu when you click
the Start button, not in Programs .

Navigate to wupdmgr.exe and create a shortcut on your Start Menu for
it. The target line will read :
C <the letter of the root drive>:\WINDOWS\wupdmgr.exe .

Automatic Updates is NOT in the Control Panel ? That is the applet
you're looking for , not Windows Update.
