Windows ME restarting

Why on every reboot, do I have to hit the del key to
resume the boot process?

If this happens before Windows loads, it's your computer trying to tell you
that you have a hardware problem. There must be another error message
before the "Hit DEL to continue" message, and that message will tell you
what's wrong.
