Courtesy of Siljaline. if this is the control panel your having this
message with.
Joan

Run "control.exe" (no quotes) from your Run > Dialog Box.
If no joy, run "Hijack This" - info and download here:

I am having the exact same problem and have found no
solution, please someone out there help us:)

No - not just the control panel. Cannot open any file from
the desktop or the start button.

Mine is the control panel and some desktop buttons, I do
have adware and have run it, but when I put control.exe
in my run box i get not a valid file may be damaged.
still working on it, any more suggestions, also went to
the hijack this section and because I cannot access
anything in my control panel I cannot complete the steps
necessary for this type of repair.
