    - Computer Virus Help! Help! Help! I tried to resolve a problem where I was getting more than 150 email failures per day(I think it was a virus). I downloaded an internet explorer service pack. Now when I tried to boot the computer, I got the error message " memory access violation in module kernel 32 at 5825: 26818571" then the screen freezes and the computer will not continue to boot.     - Can't delete a folder from the recycle bin The subject pretty well sums it up. The folder is a sub-folder I deleted from the favorites folder, and inside of it was a defunct shortcut. Every time I try to delete it it tells me the shortcut is not valid or something to that effect. I have searched everywhere, even through the registry, for the shortcut name and can't find it. When I start my computer the windows screen comes up then it goes to the black screen with the options of normal mode, safe mode, ect. Then when I try to choose one it goes to a black screen with a flashing_ and that's all it will do.     - My enter key inserts a "+" sign in text and URL location typing Suddenly whenever I kit my enter key -- for instance to creat a new paragraph -- a "+" symbol is inserted. This is not only annoying when composing messages to send via e- mail, it also winds up throwing off searches I am trying to conduct using the URL location window.     - safe mode start up??? I recentle re started my computer using microsoft ME edition.     - Cannot drag and drop in Windows Explorer I have Windows ME. After upgrading my browser to Internet Explorer 6.0, when I open Windows Explorer, it says My Computer and my drives are on the right. I used to be able to see all my drives on both sides of the split screen. I was able to drag and drop files among drives using Windows Explorer. Now all I see are my drives on one side.     - Win ME Hangs Windows ME sporadically hangs on start-up. When I select Ctrl/Alt/Delete it indicates that some random program is "not responding" when cancel is selected the system loads normally. I have run Spy Bot S&D, AdAware, AVG, EZ trust thinking that somehow a beastie had got into the system. Nothing has been detected. I can't use System Restore as I don't know when it started as is was only occasionally hanging but it is now becoming more frequent.     - Can of Worms with shutdown and start up Originally when performing shutdown the computer would hang after all the icons and programs showed a normal shutdown. In order to turn off the machine I would press and hold the start button. Upon starting I receive the new hardware wizard stating that new hardware was found but not naming the device. (No new installation took place) I would press next on the wizard for it to search for software for the "new" hardware. The wizard then states it was unable to locate software. In order to proceed I would choose finish at which time an error message about the SUReg key comes on. Followed by a Kernel32.dll message when I clear the first error message. The computer will continue to boot but I do not have the sound device or modem. Any ideas on what is going on and how to fix?     - System Restore I just upgraded to a larger hard drive and copied my old drive to my new. I received an error message when I booted with the new hard drive that stmgr was causing a conflict. I discovered that stmgr is System Restore. I had to disable system restore in msconfig to eliminate the error. Of course, system restore no longer works. I reloaded my WindowsMe and it did not fix the problem. My questions is: How do I remove the list of installed updates in Windows Update because mine is no longer current?     - Failed Security Update #823559 Up until now, I have had no problem obtaining and installing regular automatic Windows Me Security Updates.......until now. I am unable to install #829355. I have tried 30+ times to do this to no avail. I have attempted installations both automatically and manually. Each time I receive a notice informing me that the installation failed and to try again.     - Tough problem with Win ME I am helping a friend with his computer. Working fine after I replaced the power supply, but there is a problem. Every time the computer boots up Windows ME boots up OK, and then the Windows ME installer starts installing another copy of the OS. Ctrl-Alt-Del and kill process or a Cancel will stop the installer and the computer works fine until the next time it's booted up, when the Windows ME wants to install itself again. I was told that the installer is located in the MBR and that the only solution is to reformat and reinstall, but that is too drastic, anyone have a better solution?     - Updates That Keep Telling me to Update I cannot remember the patch number of the numerous security patches for my Windows ME. I currently have one that I have downloaded and installed a minimum of three times. But the popup keeps coming back that I need to download the same patch time after time. I've encountered this problem with at least one previous patch. Trying to get help from Microsoft is not successful and it is less that a satisfactory experience. For this reason, and other issues I have with Microsoft, I look forward to the day that another company produces a good substitute O.S. to replace the Microsoft Beauracracy/Money Making Machine. I would appreciate any help offered to clear up this problem, and if somebody passes this message on to Bill Gates, tell him I'd love to talk to him if he has concerns about my negative attitude about Microsoft. WIN ME boots up to the wall paper with short cuts on wall
paper , the task bar is present . When you go to click
on START the start "button" just locks up and stays in
