OK Larry, I've tried to follow your previous thread and FWIW, it's not the
direction in which I can help you as I'm not familiar with Compaq machines -
although 'standard troubleshooting techniques' *may* work.
However, elsewhere, "w-tom" advises that there is a specific routine to
follow for faulting Compaq machines and I would suggest that you go back and
follow his directions. - Maybe he will jump-in here and continue.
But, FWIW, as far as I can tell, you *may* have an issue with your RAM or
you *may* even have an issue with your HDD . However, that you are able to
boot into Real Mode DOS using your new Floppy AND see the four menu options
gives cause for some optimism.
But re-visit "w-tom's" advice.
