Hi, I'm having problems shutting down windows... every
time i do I get a blue screen with the following error
message:

An exception 0D has occurred at 0028:00000003 in VxD ---.
This was called from 0028:C002F285 in VxD ---. It may be
possible to continue normally.

Then the usual options. If I try to continue, a black
screen with flashing cursor appears and the PC won't shut
down. This is a new problem, and didn't happen prior to
around a week ago. Nothing has changed on the PC to
precipitate the problem, and it occurs on every shutdown.

I have searched the knowledge base and it contains no
error messages for "VxD ---".

Any ideas? Thanks.

Sounds like a virus
do a full virus scan
________________________________
run adware or spybot (free) and it works pretty good
_______________________________________
run scandisk from a floppy boot disk
boot into SAFE MODE and run a virus scan
___________________________________________
boot with floppy boot disk and at the a prompt,
type C:
hit enter
at C: prompt, type
scanreg /restore and hit enter
it will give you 4 or 5 days to GO BACK choose one and hit
enter
Hope one of these helps!
