    - To much memory? I recently found out that ME only supports up to 512mb of memory, I have 768mb plus. I have been having alot of blue screen errors and vairious things freeze up.     - Disk defragmenter hanging The disk defragment first begins to check drive for errors and seconds later " drive's contents changed restarting.." to begin again " Checking drive for errors" on and on... I already tried the knowledge base # 218160 - Disk defragmenter hangs after choosing disk to defragment - suggestions, cleaning up the disk, scanning it for errors, scanning it from DOS prompt, running an antivirus, turning off all programs.     - corrupted or not valid log file Step by step Interactive insists in its own installation everytime the computer is turned on. Step by step interactive cannot be uninstalled, because of a mrun32.isu file is corrupted or missing. The error message is " The log file C:\Windows\mrun32.isu is not valid or data has been corrupted. Uninstallation will not continue." I already tried alternative 129605 and 265371 from the knowledge base - How to extract original compressed windows files and how to extract and replace a protected file in windows.     - HTML messages in Outlook When I compose a new e-message in Outlook in HTML format, attachments do not show up at the receiving individuals computer. If I change everything to Plain Text format they receive my attachment just fine. Is it not possible to have an HTML format with attachments.     - OE Mail Rules Problem I've just reformatted my C drive and I have tried to import my mail rules from my mailrules.reg file which I'd saved on my D drive. I also re-installed my blocked senders in the same way .Windows tells me these have been done successfully. However, although I can see all my blocked senders on the list, no mail rules are present.     - Missing dll and assorted error messages On boot up I get 3 error message box's 1) error starting program a required ddl file, ecomwr.dll, was not found 2) error starting program a required ddl file, icqrt.dll, was not found 3) update error reading information from the registry! can anyone explain what I need to do in order to get these problems solved.     - Cannot delete infected file AVG Antivirus shows my computer infected with the Trojan Horse "DOWNLOADER.TOONCOM.K", and "DOWNLOADER.EXE" is trying to access the internet. When the anti-virus tries to delete the file "C:\_Restore\Temp\A0347590.CPY", I get an error message saying the file cannot be moved/deleted.     - Exporer problems. It wont open my comp/docs etc... Had a problem with games keep freezing/crashing. tried to sort. Reinstalled windows as last hope. Got there but windows mucked up graphics driver (nvidiatnt32). Sorted that but now when i try and open my computer, my docs and others the error "EXPLORER CAUSED AN ERROR IN WMPDXM.DLL EXPLORER WILL NOW CLOSE" "TRY CLOSING DOWN SOME OTHER PROGRAMS". I only had explorer and system tray running. Found out the errpr is to do with a windows media player shim of the original filename of "64SHIM". Unistalled and reinstalled latest media player. NO joy. tried to download IE6 latest sp wont do it because of "other programs running" which there arent, only explorer and system tray apart from net of course. please help im going mad with frustation.     - Taskbar Frozen After starting or rebooting my computer, the clock on the taskbar takes about 5 minutes to load (also, I cannot click on anything on the task bar -or even use the windows key on the keyboard- until the clock has loaded). After a period of time, the entire taskbar freezes. I am able to Alt-Tab between programs and able to open new programs from the desktop, but I cannot click on anything on the taskbar, and no new programs opened or closed are reflected on the taskbar.     - Administrator Rights Hello, I was trying to install AT&T Internet service, and thier tech support says that I need to know the administrator password to install the software or register it. I only have one user created and have never logged on as anyone else. I thought I was the administrator. What happens when I try to register I get an error on thier software that says, unable to complete because account is inactive. I don't think it's a Windows problem, but they say it is.     - Computer shuts down while in use I am at my wits end here, while using the PC ( playing games, etc..) my PC screen goes blank and the mouse ( Trackball ) shuts down. this also happens when left alone for a period of time. The only way to get the PC going again is to switch it off manually then switch it back on again. I have no idea why this happens or how to fix it. Any help would be much appreciated.     - picture saving problem i'm trying to save my pics to a cd-r/cd-rw. it will not work for some reason. it keeps giving me a message saying "access denied. make sure the disk is not full or write protected." they are brand new cd's. i called emachines and he said the disc has to be formatted. i never had this problem before and i also have a fujifilm cd-rw and the pics save with no problem. any suggestions would be appreciated.     - Global.SW mystery file (4 Gb) I found a 4 gig file on my computer that I can not explain. Don't know what it is or where it came from. I'm running windows ME (upgraded from 98) on a Gateway Desktop. About half the time during my startups I get one of the
following messages:

1. Windows protection error. You need to restart your
computer.

I then need to restart the computer manually then it
starts fine and performs fine. This has been going on
sporadically for some time. Any ideas?
