My CD drive and USB don't work in protective mode. I think
it happened after I used the Restore CD. Does anyone know
how I can fix the problem?

If you mean, "Safe Mode", this is normal. Safe Mode loads only a very few
drivers so it can be used to try to find problems in other drivers that
would normally load.

No - not Safe mode. It says windows is operating in
Protective mode and some devices aren't accessible. Also
there is an article on the Microsoft Knowledge base that
says that the CD ROM may be bussed through the Sound card
when Windows Me is working in Protective mode. Although
the sound card doesn't contain the driver information
thats needed to make the CD drive accessible.
Thanks for helping.
