Hi
This posting should really have been posted into one of the windowsxp =
news groups, but I'll see if I can elucidate:
You can install XP onto a 'bare drive' if you have purchased either the =
upgrade version - a CD from a previous of Windows will be required - or =
a full Retail version - in which case XP can be installed without a CD =
from previous version of Windows.
What kind of XP CD have you got - upgrade, OEM or full retail?
OEM versions can only perform a 'clean' install of XP and will not count =
as an 'upgrade' CD.
Skipping files will not help any installation of any program and will =
nullify that installation. Skipping files on a Norton install may be =
advantageous though :-))
If you detail your problems in one of the windowsxp news groups, then =
someone may be able to help you.
