tabbed browsing, either. Unless - in both cases - you gave up before they
were configured, just threw it in and said you can't be arsed, and never
actually found out why these things are made?
They're not in the snake oil category, if that's what you think. I sometimes
wonder if you appreciate how insulting it is when you seem to suggest that
they are. Or that I'm the sort who's easily mesmerised by things that
glisten. Never mind all the others who use Winzip, Winrar, Infozip and the
other open source ones I forget the names of, favoured by people I freely
admit I'll never know as much as if I live to be 100.
Oh, and PowerArchiver.
Meanwhile you freely admit to rarely using archivers and after all, if you
don't know that we use them because they involve less clicking/less typing,
you obviously don't do a great deal of zipping/unzipping. While at the very
least tabbed browsing requires shorter mouse movements - but you don't have
multiple pages open at once, so you wouldn't know. OK, fine, your choice.
But trying to make either look like the rest of us are transfixed with
ephemera and only use this stuff because we haven't figured out the true
meaning of life - presumable because you're afraid you'll appear less than
'a guru', and what? You won't get the coveted pseudo-BSc/PhD to put after
your name?
The moment I bring a potentially interesting point up you act like I'm
trying to insinuate something. You must think that at any moment you'll be
discovered for a fake. Why else would you always go on the defensive when it
isn't called for and proffer offensive theories as to why we don't do what
you do? Or if you think adding a <g> or a smiley fools anyone but a fool and
allows you to be offensive and get away with it...well, not with me you
don't, not indefinately.
I'll tell you what, Mart. How about not supposing I'm so dull-witted you can
imply you know better than me? I use things like Winzip or Winrar because
they are more capable than Compressed Folders. And me and most of the
rest of the world think tabbed browsing is superior, because it is, simple
as that. If you want nothing to do with it, do, please yourself, but please
do, stop, trying to paint the rest of us as kids in order to come over as
wise.
Get the idea I've had enough?
I *will* be dealing with *he who talks at us all*, only the arguments are
more complicated and I am still really put out down here. In fact I'm
getting tired of that, too.
