for ME users. It lists 246 Q's and convertion to
Real MS-DOS mode, a new idea.
It has help for other OS's.

AAH
adding MS-DOS functionality to Win ME is nothing new - and it is dangerous!
(the site mentions 'recently' and 'Beta' when taking about ME - that was
well over three years ago!

You need to be aware that this method can lead to Real Problems - as well as
real mode dos.

Actually it's a three year old idea and is the mfd4life WinMEDOS patch that
breaks Safe Mode in the process (one wonders if the mfd.nfo file is the
original). It does give a closer approximation of a full real-mode MS-DOS
than does the 'MVP method'/PureDOS, but in both there's stuff that still
doesn't work and whether either is good enough depends on how much you want
to do in Real Mode. I'm currently testing a hybrid of the two, but for an
overview (and 3rd approach) see:

Actually, the Web site is horribly dated - it was written when WindowsMe was
still in Beta testing. The hundreds of "Q"s on the Web site all produce an
error that the page cannot be displayed. It appears they put it up several
years ago and have never touched it since.
