Is there anyway i can save the desktop icons into a .reg file and place it
back on the same position.
Or is there any utility which can do the
same?

what r u looking to do? to keep the icons in the position
you want them? to put the icons where you want..right
click on the desktop /go to arrange icons..and make sure
none of the options are hilighted..that way you can put
them where you want and they will stay there each time you
boot...i hope this is what u mean lol

Thanks for your advice. I was trying to find
out how save the layout.
In case of OS Restoration/Safe Mode the
icon on the desktop get mixed up and have
to be rearranged.
I fount the utility.

Iconoid, free, from www.sillysot.com , will save your icon positions for a
given resolution AND it does a lot more. Check it out. A word of
caution.....the "Icon Dance" feature is pretty much a waste of cpu cycles,
other than that, it is a great little app and will allow you to make a
number of changes to the desktop icons.

Aah, you are most welcome. It's a 'silly' little app, but, it does its'
intended job quite well......and you can't beat the price!
