XP running along apparently fine, Diskeeper pops up as it is wont to do to
inform that a Chkdsk is scheduled. Next time I bootup chkdsk runs then XP
won't go online! Reboot to ME, online no problem. Back to XP, restore the
registry, no change. Re-install the modem software, same ol' same ol'.
Rather than get sidetracked I restore the image from 5 days ago. Back
online. Bloody chkdsk!

Oh, that was it, was it, JB?

Btw d'you notice I posted with nntp.aioe.org? First I tried
free-text.usenetserver.com, but it said posting was not allowed?? I gather
nntp.aioe.org allows just 25 a day, but I've only got it for acv. Still get
aca-v from the isp.

Hi-diddley-dee!

It was the being unable to post the message to Laura with
free-text.usenetserver.com that prompted me to cut & paste to the same post
in nntp.aioe.org, resulting in my duplicating her's (much to the chagrin of

Yes, I have songs by U2....some guy called Bono keeps coming over here

It was also the spyplane that Gary Powers got shot down in and that is

That one I know! Planes I know. Our excellent V-bombers were, until then,
considered safe at altitude! Thereafter they were to come in at low level
and the stress cracked the wings of the Vickers Valiant (as seen in The
Liquidator) and it was grounded. Guess that one wasn't so excellent! Now the
one at RAF Hendon is the only one left in the world!

I actually find him rather sad. Most of the internet loonies I wouldn't care
if they topped themselves, but I guess it's something about the futility of
Peter's obsession. I don't know. By which I don't mean *I don't know*! I

I'd be tempted to agree with that, but, you know, people move on. Most of
the regulars when I first went to acv have gone now. It's not really the
same group. Of course, Raid is back. Only he brings idiots from other
groups, and *they* account for many of the posts so there are even fewer
valid ones than at first sight!

When I was testing with Google Groups, last year when first I couldn't get
acv with my isp. ACV. It's easy as ISP. As simple as Doh Ray ME, ACV, ISP,
Baby you and me!

Where was I?

Oh, yes. There were very few on Google a year ago, it seemed to me!

Thank you, Shane, that wasn't hard at all and I don't know, what's "off the
wall" about it, but then it's the "Queen" herself, she's got free reign, I
suppose. The "subjects" will bow to her, including urs truly.

Harry.

Did you know the first V2 to land on London hit Chiswick? Which is where I
was born. There's the Space Age connection again!

I'm thinking of running tours.

Heavens no, Shane, wish that never happened.
Life is a lot crueler than fiction.
We are supposed to learn from history, instead we practice being repeat
offenders.
What seems to be our problem???

Harry.

ROFL
Thank you for the song most enjoyable. <g>

I've noticed there are aren't as many regulars now and I've not been going
there as long as you, Laura doesn't post as much now and it's very rare to
see Heather in there now. <g>
