After several days of safe mode starts I finally found my USB bus extender
to be causing the problem. In trouble shooting this problem I found a
virtual Device driver called TICKLE.VXD. Does anyone know who this is
installed by. Properties say applic. unknown. It starts in SYSTEM.INI under
386E nh. I am running WIN ME SP1. IE6.0 no SP.

I've search for this on Google and MS with no results.

I would tend to be suspicious of anything like this - try disabling it in
MSCONFIG, and seeing what falls over as a result.

When was the last time you updated your virus scanner and ran a full system
scan of all files?

Ran an update and scan this morning, no virus found. Just started using AVG
Free yesterday when my Norton Systemworks went to never never land after my
USB extender died, Not sure why. Tryed reinstalling systemWorks after
complet manual removal, but sytem started going to safe moden again, so I
deinstalled again and downloaded AVG. This VXD has been in the system ini
for a while. I will try diabling it and see what does not work.
