I can't seem to find a fix for this. While online, my
computer will freeze up with the message "[insert .dll
file here] has caused a general protection fault in
USER.EXE" The .dll file is usually kernel 32, but
sometimes it's something like "explorer." Either way, I'm
assuming it the user.exe file that has the problem. Is
there something I can do to fix this?

Thanks in advance,

Hi,
There are a number of possible causes.
See: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers_10.htm#user.exe
