I am currently building a new computer and dismantling my
extremely old system. Can I transfer my copy of Windows
ME from the old computer to my new one?

Probably not successfully Ken. Besides a new computer deserves a fresh load of
Windows. <g> You will be amazed at how much better it runs. If you're going
this far you might as well do it right.

might work if you deleted everything in Device Manager and Network
Properties before taking it out of the old machine, then let it try to
detect everything fresh in the new machine. [1]

Best bet though is to backup/format/install.

Either way back up your personal data first.

Rick

[1] probably just crash.
