Thanks, guys! That was exactly it! I had over 10GB of System Restore files!
I booted into DOS with a floppy and was able to delete about 3.5GB of them,
but even in DOS it takes about 4/5 of a second per file to delete... so I'm
going to be deleting for the next couple of nights, hehe. Is there an
option to disable System Restore anywhere? If so, where is it? (Amazing
side note: The System Restore space slider is still greyed out, but it
moved to the right since I last looked at it. Three notches to the right.
How obnoxious!) I would just like to disable it for a bit until I get this
fully under control. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the feedback but why delete from DOS?

My post explained how to solve the problem by renaming the _RESTORE folder
after which you can boot back into Win Me and delete the files from there. I
would recommend you follow those suggestions. Until you do so there is no
point in worrying yourself about system restore not working since until you
have removed the folder you won't get system restore working again.

And if you insist to do it from DOS this time run smartdrv.exe before
starting to delete. But it's easier to do it from WinME.

Good luck

The website also explains how to rename/delete the _Restore folder, so I'm
not sure where the idea to delete manually comes from?
Whatever - glad to point you in the right direction, Zinguvok!

To disable System Restore go to Control Panel>System>File
System Properties>Troubleshooting and tick the Disable
System Restore box. You will then need to restart. All
checkpoints up to that point will be deleted
automatically, which will take many minutes in my
experience. You can then uncheck the box and restart to
get system restore going again.
