You're still going off at tangents!
DO NOT worry about DOS commands - Win ME doesn't use them much, and there
should be no need for them, except as 'last resort' problem solvers.
Do the SR clear/reset as described by Mike and myself, and see whether that
helps things - and let us know the results.
