I have been told letting windows manage virtual memory slows down the
system. Is this true and what is the recommended minimum and maximum sizes
if I specify them myself. The system has 256 Meg Ram but 16 meg are eaten up
by onboard video. Thank You, Dave

Once upon a time, and many moons ago, the procedure was to make the swap
file one size - 2½ times the RAM. Many folks will agree and disagree with
that but that's what I did back in the days of 95, 98, SE, and ME.

What you were told is totally untrue. Leave the virtual memory
settings alone and let Windows manage things.

If you are finding your system may be running slower
lately, have you run the 'defragment' utility?
You may want to run 'disk cleanup' as well before
running 'defrag'.
