Stopping programs from loading

When starting my computer, other programs are also loaded
that I don't want until I manually load them. I forgot how
to stop this from happening (besides deleting the program
and reinstalling)...any suggestions?

Yes: Start/Run/type msconfig then enter
select startup and uncheck what you don't want
