Whenever I boot up my PC I get 2 error messages:-

1. Systmgr has caused an error in wintrust.dll
2. systmgr has caused an error in kernel32.dll

I can "cancel" on both of these and get into my PC.

Can anyone help in resolving these please.

Thanks

There is no such program in Win ME as SYSTMGR.EXE - if that is the correct
spelling, then update your anti-virus definitions, and run a full system
scan of all files.

Unfortunately - the news if the your subject-line of STMGR.EXE is the
correct spelling is not much better - the only known cure is a reinstall of
the OS - look here for assistance in this
http://www.btinternet.com/~winnoel/reinME.htm

If you want to assist in finding a less problematic cure - email me BEFORE
doing anything else, and we'll take it from there.

HTH

you are quite right, the error message is stmgr has caused
an error in wintrust.dll / kernel32.dll.

If I re-install Windows ME will I lose any personal data /
files etc.?

Many Thanks for your response

You shouldn't - but ALWAYS back up first!
Look here for instructions on the reinstall.
