Windows has crashed and I can't get it to start even in
safe mode. Is it possible to download a startup disk so I
can get my files off my hard drive before I reinstall
Windows? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Tyler

You could make a Startup Disk using the PC you are sending your post from. A
Win98 or even an XP DOS SU disk will do for what you need. However, you
could download a WinMe startup disk making utility from www.bootdisk.com

Be sure to read the instructions.

Good luck

Mart

Re: Startup Disk - XP SU disk addendum by Mart

N.B - The basic XP DOS startup disk is insufficient for copying/retrieving
files off your hard drive. The range DOS commands are very limited -
otherwise my previous reply still holds.

Good luck
