It sounds as if you have a 'branded' PC (e.g. Dell or HP) which has its
own Restore disk. If this is the case check your system documentation.
The CD may be bootable; try starting the PC with the restore CD in the
drive.
If you have a standard Windows CD try this:
Start the PC with the floppy you created then select option 2 (I think)
from the menu - it's the option 'Start computer with CD-ROM support'.
You should get an A:\> prompt after a while.
Type "dir c:" without the quotes and press Enter. You should get a list
of all the files on drive C: scrolling up the screen indicating that the
drive is readable.
If that's OK and you get to the A:\> prompt again then put in the
windows CD, type SETUP and press Enter.
If you still have problems check your BIOS settings - restoring to
optimum values or factory settings may help.
